Deleting your data

There are four ways to remove your data, and all four take effect immediately without anyone at ClasshAI being involved. They remove different amounts, so pick the one that matches what you actually want gone.

1. Disconnect Instagram, keep your account

Open Settings and choose Disconnect. Disconnecting in ClasshAI stops replies and deletes ClasshAI’s stored Instagram token, together with your Instagram username and account ID, and cancels every reply still queued and every pending follow-gated delivery. That part is ours and it is done before anything is asked of Meta, so it does not depend on Instagram being reachable. Your rules stay saved so you can reconnect later.

Afterwards, and only with the token held in memory for those few seconds, we unsubscribe from your account’s webhooks and ask Instagram to drop the grant. Both are best-effort: Meta does not currently document a permission-revoke endpoint for the Instagram login we use, so we cannot promise Instagram acted on it, and we never treat a failure there as a reason to keep your token.

To ensure authorization is removed from Instagram itself, remove ClasshAI in Instagram under Apps and websites — Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites. That is option 2 below, and it is the only step that is guaranteed to clear the authorization on Instagram’s side.

Disconnecting removes the connection, not the history. Reply logs and analytics already recorded stay — logs until they expire on their own 90 days after they were written, analytics until you use option 3 or 4.

2. Remove ClasshAI from Instagram

You can also remove the authorization from Instagram’s side, without visiting this site — in the Instagram app, go to Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites and remove ClasshAI. This is the step that is guaranteed to remove the authorization on Instagram’s side. Instagram notifies us automatically, and we erase your Instagram access token, username and account ID and cancel any queued replies. Replies stop.

This is the same removal as option 1, started from Instagram instead of from here, and it has the same limit: it clears the connection and does not delete reply logs, queued replies or analytics. Use option 3 or 4 for those.

3. Ask Meta to delete your data

Removing an app and asking for the data it holds to be deleted are two separate things at Meta, and only the second one erases history. When Meta sends us a data deletion request for your account, we delete:

  • Your Instagram access token, username and account ID.
  • Every reply log, including the comment and message text that triggered each reply.
  • Any replies still queued to send.
  • Any pending follow-gated delivery.
  • Your reply and engagement analytics.

We answer that request with a confirmation code and a link back to this page. Arriving here with a code in the address bar is what shows the panel at the top of this page. Your sign-in account and your saved rules survive, because neither came from Instagram — use option 4 if you want those gone too.

If you cannot find that option in Meta’s settings, option 4 removes everything this does and more, from inside the app.

4. Delete your ClasshAI account entirely

Open Settings and choose Delete account. You are asked to confirm once, and then it is done — there is nothing to wait for and nobody to email.

We erase your account and everything attached to it, in this order:

  • Your Instagram connection is disconnected first, by exactly the route in option 1: queued replies are cancelled and the stored token and identifiers are erased, and only then are the webhook unsubscribe and the revoke attempted with the token held in memory. Neither Meta call can block or undo the deletion.
  • Any active subscription is cancelled with Razorpay immediately, so nothing can be charged to an account that no longer exists. If Razorpay cannot be reached, the deletion stops and reports an error rather than leaving a live payment mandate behind — try again in a few minutes.
  • Then the account record itself, and with it your rules, reply logs, analytics, queued replies, Instagram access token and identifiers, the record of which Terms and Privacy Policy version you accepted, and every session on every device.

One thing is deliberately kept, and kept indefinitely: a privacy-preserving keyed fingerprint (HMAC-SHA256, computed with a secret key we hold) of your Google account identifier, with the date. The free month is one per Google account for good, and a limit that deleting the account resets is not a limit. Nothing derived from your Instagram account is kept — the Instagram account you connected is never fingerprinted, and every Instagram identifier we held is deleted with the account.

Precisely what that means: the stored value does not contain your raw Google identifier, your email address, your username or your Instagram handle, and it is not reversible into them. It is used to recognise whether the same Google account has claimed a trial before — so it is not anonymous, and we do not call it anonymous. Its purpose is limited to preventing trial abuse; it is not used for advertising, profiling or analytics and is linked to nothing else. The Privacy Policy says the same.

It cannot be undone. The remainder of a period you have already paid for is not refunded, and signing in with the same Google account afterwards creates a new, empty account rather than restoring the old one — on a paid plan or not at all, since the free month has already been used.

Payment records that Razorpay is legally required to retain stay with Razorpay under their own retention rules; we cannot delete those on their behalf, and we keep no payment ledger of our own. If you cannot reach Settings for any reason, email support@classhai.com from the address you signed up with and we will do it for you within 30 days.

If you commented on or messaged a creator

If you are not a ClasshAI customer but interacted with a creator who uses us, we may hold a log of that one interaction. Email support@classhai.com with the creator’s Instagram handle and roughly when it happened, and we will remove it.
